Alison Leiby's solo show Oh God, A Show About Abortion raised $22,000 for abortion support through its one-day-only bake sale. The show, which plays at Off-Broadway's Cherry Lane Theatre, recently added additional shows to its run and will play two performances at Largo in Los Angeles before returning to NYC.
Leiby teamed up with pastry chef Natasha Li Pickowicz for a bake sale June 4 to benefit Brigid Alliance, a nonprofit that arranges and funds travel and other needs to support individuals nationwide receive access to abortion care.
"When the leak happened and we all knew what was at stake in the coming weeks for reproductive freedom, @natashapickowicz suggested we team up for a show/bake sale day to raise money. A true no brainer. As was choosing @brigidalliance as our organization to donate to," wrote Leiby via Instagram.
"The bake sale raised $22,000 for The Brigid Alliance in like, less than two hours. That’s shorter than basically every movie that gets made. That is $22,000 to help people get abortion access & lodging & transportation & childcare & meals & accompaniment."

More than 20 NYC bakeries and chefs donated their signature treats to the event, including Never Ending Taste, Dame, Claire Saffitz, Camille Becerra, Brutus Bakeshop by Lani Halliday, Don Angie, Yellow Rose, King, Vallery Lomas, Bad Taste by Jen Monroe, Frenchette, Marlow & Sons, Zoe’s Doughies by Zoe Kanan, Sophia Roe, Carla Lalli Music, Claudia Fleming, Gage & Tollner, Ovenly, Morgenstern’s, Judy Kim, Split Eights, Parlor Coffee, Fox Bread Bakery by Daniel Skurnick, Ursula, and the Jewish Food Society. The show also sold branded tote bags loaded with donated goods.
Directed by Lila Neugebauer and presented by Broad City co-creator and star Ilana Glazer, Oh God, A Show About Abortion sees Leiby telling the story of a momentous summer that involved a scary visit to the "Fertility" section of a Missouri CVS, two root canals, and, finally, a trip to Planned Parenthood.
