Off-Broadway's New York Theatre Workshop has revealed details of the artists, theatre companies, and artistic leaders that will be part of its 2023-24 season, including its 2050 Artistic Fellows.
The next cohort of fellows will include Emily Abrams, Andrea Ambam, Raz Golden, Celeste Jennings, Ying Ying Li, and Nicholas Polonio. The 2050 fellowship is so named in celebration of the U.S. Census Bureau's projection that the United States will not have a single racial or ethnic majority by 2050. NYTW Usual Suspect and former 2050 Directing Fellow Miranda Haymon will return to advise and work directly with each fellow to build their individual experiences of the program, as well as with the cohort as a whole.
The Off-Broadway theatre company also revealed that Ebony Noelle Golden's Jupiter Performance Studio will be a Company-in-Residence at NYTW. Jupiter Performance Studio was founded in 2020 as a hub for the study of diasporic Black performance traditions. It joins Noor Theatre, Safe Harbors NYC, Dominican Artists Collective, and JAG Productions which all continue as companies-in-residence.

Her spirit of collaboration and clarity of purpose rooted in strategies of social justice are inspiring. Her work is both intimate and expansive, vivid and visceral, modern with a sharp eye on how the past influences every inch of our present. We look forward to supporting her visioning and creation during her residency.”
Within its artistic leadership, NYTW has announced Aaron Malkin as associate artistic director, theatre and productions; Rachel Silverman as associate artistic director, workshops and development; and Leo Angulo as artistic programs manager. All three have previously served as members of the artistic staff, and will work with NYTW's new role of literary manager. The position of literary manager remains open as NYTW is currently accepting applications. Claire Yenson will continue to serve as NYTW casting director-in-residence.
