An industry presentation of the new folk thriller The Turning will be presented December 10 at 3 PM at Theatre Row.
Directed by and developed with Drama Desk Award winner Sammi Cannold, the cast will feature The Summer I Turned Pretty and Hadestown star Lola Tung, Rent's Anthony Rapp, Tommy's Ali Louis Bourzgui, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child's Jane Bruce, and singer-songwriter Eleri Ward with Alayna Martus (The Lion King), Haile Ferrier (Dear Evan Hansen), Steven Huynh (Maybe Happy Ending), Terrance Johnson (Rent), Rohan Kymal (Safety Not Guaranteed), Mark Mauriello, Monet Sabel (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical), Keith White (A Bronx Tale, Jersey Boys), Madeline Kimmel, and Ishita Bansal. Casting is by Benton Whitley and Micah Johnson-Levy of Whitley Theatrical.
The actors will be backed by musicians Charlie Rosen, Zach Jones, Alec Berlin, and Rick Snell.
Featuring a book and score by Zack Zadek, The Turning follows two best friends, who search for healing at a California wellness retreat, which ultimately reveals itself to be something else entirely.
The creative team also includes music director Geoffrey Ko, stage manager Alfredo Macias, score supervisor Danielle Gimbal, and assistant director Max Rodriguez. Baseline Theatrical is the general manager.
