Atlantic Theater Company's world-premiere production of Clare Barron's Shhhh opens at Off-Broadway's Atlantic Stage 2 January 31, after beginning performances January 14. The run is scheduled to continue through February 13.
Barron, a Pulitzer finalist for her work Dance Nation, has not only written the new piece, but directs and stars as well. Barron leads a creative team that includes scenic designer Arnulfo Maldonado, costume designer Kaye Voyce, lighting designer Jen Schriever, and sound designer Sinan Refik Zafar. Laura Smith is production stage manager and Thomas Dieter assistant stage manager, with Unkledave's Fight House serving as intimacy coordinator and Agnes Borinsky as dramaturg.
Audience members are required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination, accepting the digital Excelsior Pass, the NYC COVID Safe Pass, a photo or copy of a CDC vaccination card, or a photo or copy of an official immunization record from outside the U.S., with all guests also required to present identification.
