“Good friend for Jesus sake forbeare, To dig the dust enclosed here. Blessed be the man that spares these stones, And cursed be he that moves my bones," wrote William Shakespeare for his gravestone, apparently anxious about the prospect of grave robbers. Such is not the case at Off-Broadway's long-running immersive Macbeth adaptation Sleep No More, which formally entombed with a final performance January 5. But now, fans and foes alike are invited to pick the bones of the production via a scenery and props auction.

Held at The McKittrick Hotel, which was the home of Sleep No More for 14 years, the auction, titled Take Upon You What is Yours, will run online through January 29. Live bidding is available on SleepNoMoreAuction.com.

A wide variety of pieces are up for auction, including material from The King James Sanitorium, Lady Macbeth's chambers, the High Street shops, and more. Bidders must purchase using a credit card, and arrange local pick-up at The McKittrick Hotel by February 5.

The loose adaptation, which reimagined Shakespeare's classic as a quasi-dance piece with audience interaction, began previews March 7, 2011. Sleep No More was presented by Emursive's Randy Weiner (The Donkey Show), Arthur Karpati, and Jonathan Hochwald—in association with Rebecca Gold Productions. The show took a non-linear approach to its storytelling, allowing theatregoers to freely explore five floors of the venue, where scenes, tableaux, and scenarios played out, conjuring the world and themes of Shakespeare's bloody tale. Audience members donned masks and were required to stay silent during the experience. The production had co-direction and choreography by Maxin Doyle and sound design by Stephen Dobbie. Design associates were Beatrice Minns and Livi Vaughan.
