International News Bat Out of Hell Will Return to the West End Stage For Limited Run

The jukebox musical featuring Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman's greatest hits has also announced a Las Vegas residency.

Jim Steinman’s Bat Out of Hell – The Musical will return to London in 2023. The musical, which features the greatest hits of Jim Steinman and Meat Loaf, will have a limited run at the Peacock Theatre February 17–April 1, 2023. 

Currently on tour across the U.K. and Ireland, the show has also announced that it will begin a residency at Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino September 27. Casts for both productions will be announced at a later date.

The jukebox musical follows Strat, immortal leader of The Lost, and Raven, daughter of the tyrant Falco, as they fall in love in a story about the rebelliousness that can come with youth and passion. Hits like "You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth (Hot Summer Night)," "Bat Out of Hell," "I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That)," and "Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad" are featured in the show, along with two previously unreleased songs, "What Part of My Body Hurts the Most" and "Not Allowed to Love."

The U.K. and Ireland tour of Bat Out of Hell - The Musical features a book, music and lyrics by Steinman, direction by Jay Scheib, choreography adapted by Xena Gusthart, with musical supervision and additional arrangements by Michael Reed, set and costume design by Jon Bausor, original costume designs by Meentje Nielsen, original wig designs by Linda McKnight, video design by Finn Ross, lighting design by Patrick Woodroffe, sound design by Gareth Owen, and orchestration by Steve Sidwell. Original casting is by David Grindrod and U.K. tour casting is by Anne Vosser.

The show has previously played limited runs at Manchester Opera House, London Coliseum, and London’s Dominion Theatre, and also made its New York premiere Off-Broadway at New York City Center in 2019. It is produced by David Sonenberg, Michael Cohl, and Tony Smith, with executive producer Julian Stoneman. The tour has been dedicated to the memory of Mr. Steinman, who passed away in 2021, and Meat Loaf, who passed away earlier this year.
