Sean Hayes will reprise his Tony-winning performance as actor, pianist, and personality Oscar Levant in Doug Wright's Good Night, Oscar in London's West End this summer. The work will play a limited, seven-week run at the Barbican Theatre beginning July 31 and continuing through September 21. The production will mark Hayes' West End debut.

The work, which takes place backstage and on set of a 1958 episode of the Jack Paar Tonight Show, with Levant picked as the headlining guest, made its world premiere in 2022 at Chicago's Goodman Theatre before bowing on Broadway in 2023; both starred Hayes as Levant. Hayes won the Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play for the performance.

Lisa Peterson will return to direct after staging the Broadway bow, with further casting and creative team to be announced. Howard Panter is producing.

"It's thrilling to be making my West End debut at the Barbican this summer with Good Night, Oscar," says Hayes in a statement. "I'm eager to introduce one of the all-time greats, Oscar Levant, to the U.K. The response we received on Broadway was incredible, and I'm hoping British audiences will appreciate the history of this fascinating man—a multi-faceted pioneer, from concert pianist to infamous raconteur. It's an honor to bring this production to London."

Tickets will go on sale beginning at 10 AM GMT February 6. Visit GoodNightOscar.com.
