Crystal Skillman's monologue play Open plays a one-night-only free performance at Off-Broadway's The Tank November 14 at 4 PM. Presented by The Tank in partnership with The Flying Carpet Theatre Company, the performance is a free preview of the show's upcoming Italian tour with OnStage! Festival.

Open made its world premiere in 2019 under the direction of Jessi D. Hill, who returns to direct the preview performance starring Lily Ali-Oshatz. Ali-Oshatz plays The Magician, a woman who presents illusions to entertain the audience while attempting the most impossible feat of all—saving the woman she loves with a magic trick.

The creative team features lighting and scenic designer Sarah Johnston (Medea), sound designer Emma Wilk (Riddle of the Trilobites), and costume designer Madeline Wall (Kodachrome). The stage manager is Sydney Golden (Griswolds’ Broadway Vacation) and production management is by Nick Cotz of AFO Theater Company.

After The Tank, Open will make four stops in Italy, including Cagliari (Lucido Festival), Teatro del Lidoo in Ostia, Pescara at Florian Espace, and Festival Mauro Rostagno.

Open is co-produced by the #HealMeToo Festival, with funding from ART/NY and is made possible by a grant from USArtists International (Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation), the Dramatists Guild Foundation, with permission from Dramatists Play Service.
