Film & TV News The Son's Florian Zeller Will Direct The Lehman Trilogy TV Adaptation

The Tony-winning play chronicles the success and eventual failure of the famed financial institution.

The previously announced television adaptation of the Tony Award-winning The Lehman Trilogy will be directed by Florian Zeller (The Son, The Father). The playwright-director, Deadline reports, will also write and co-produce the upcoming big-budget show, marking his television debut.

Written by Stefano Massini and adapted by Ben Power, The Lehman Trilogy chronicles the success and eventual failure of the famed financial institution. In addition to Best Play, the London import also won Tony Awards for director Sam Mendes, lighting designer Jon Clark, scenic designer Es Devlin, and original London company member Simon Russell Beale, who won the Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Play Tony for his work as Henry Lehman.

Lorenzo Mieli and Procacci will executive produce the series alongside Federica Sainte-Rose, co-founder of Zeller's newly formed production company Blue Morning, and De Maio Entertainment’s Lorenzo De Maio.

Zeller's latest film, The Son, is an adaptation of his 2018 stage play Le Fils and stars Hugh Jackman, Laura Dern, and Anthony Hopkins. The movie recently premiered at the Venice International Film Festival.
