St. Ann's Warehouse will present the U.S. premiere of Édouard LouisWho Killed My Father (Qui a tué mon père) this spring. Produced by Schaubühne Berlin and Théâtre de la Ville Paris, performances will run May 18-June 5 with an official opening May 22.

Louis and director Thomas Ostermeier reunite for the production; the two previously collaborated on the theatricalization of History of Violence, Louis' autobiographical novel, which was also produced by Schaubühne and premiered at St. Ann's Warehouse in 2019.

This adaptation of Louis' book of the same name, which takes audiences through his strained relationship with his father and its roots in how the French government handles the working poor, features the author telling the story himself. Louis performs professionally for the first time in this production.

“This is our most recent encounter with Édouard Louis, whose profound empathy for the working poor has broken our hearts time and again," St. Ann's Artistic Director Susan Feldman said in a statement. "In Who Killed My Father, he literally brings his politics home, with rage and love for his infirm father, broken by a system that shows no mercy.”

Who Killed My Father's creative team features video designers Sébastien Dupouey and Marie Sanchez, stage designer Nina Wetzel, costume designer Caroline Tavernier, lighting designer Erich Schneider, composer Sylvain Jacques, and dramaturgs Florian Borchmeyer and Elisa Leroy. Leroy also serves as producer alongside Anne Arnz.
