Original company members Betsy Morgan and Joseph Taylor will return to their roles as Pirelli/Beggar Woman and Tobias, respectively, in the record-breaking revival of Sweeney Todd July 31. As previously announced, the immersive Off-Broadway staging ends its run August 26 at the Barrow Street Theatre.
They will also be joined by returning cast member Jake Boyd as Anthony for the final six weeks of performances. The three replace Stacie Bono, Zachary Noah Piser, and Billy Harrigan Tighe.
The cast currently features Thom Sesma as Sweeney Todd, Sally Ann Triplett as Mrs. Lovett, Michael James Leslie as Judge Turpin, John Rapson as the Beadle, and DeLaney Westfall as Johanna, along with Daniel Berryman, Laura Darrell, Matt Leisy, Liz Pearce, Monet Sabel, Drew Seigla, and Haley Swindal.
The Tooting Arts Club production of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s musical thriller is the longest running production of the Tony-winning musical in theatrical history.
