Casting has been announced for the Off-Broadway developmental run of the new musical Millennials Are Killing Musicals, penned by Drama League-songwriting contest and NAMT Challenge winner Nico Juber. Previews will begin May 7 prior to an official opening May 15 at Theatre 71 at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament. Out of the Box Theatrics produces the limited engagement, which will run through May 28.

Starring will be Broadway alums Max Crumm (Grease) as Nate/Atlas, Tiffany Engen (Legally Blonde) as Jake’s Mom, Jakeim Hart (Almost Famous) as Dylan, and Brinie Wallace (A Beautiful Noise) as Pacifica alongside Diana Huey (Honor) as Katrina, Sheri Sanders (Urinetown) as Nana Marie, Jae W.B. (Luna & The Star Bodies) as Luna. Serving as understudies will be Jessie Alagna (Emojiland) and Kathel Griffin (Here and Their). Additional casting will be announced.

The musical follows single, struggling millennial mom Brenda, the seemingly perfect Jake's Mom, and Brenda's younger sister Katrina, who is eight months pregnant.

Ciara Renée (Waitress, Frozen) will direct the run, joined on the creative team by music supervisor and arranger Ted Arthur (Diana), vocal arranger Devyn Rush, orchestrator Macy Schmidt (Kimberly Akimbo), music director Sheela Ramesh (SIX), lighting designer Jamie Roderick (Midnight at the Never Get), scenic designer Lindsay Fuori (Made By God), sound designer Bill Toles (Rat Trap), projection designer Stefania Bulbarella (Bright New Boise), costume designer Brynne Oster-Bainnson (Hit the Wall), choreographer Sarah Parker (Camelot), gender consultant Shira Helena Gitlin, and EDI consultant Tiffany Vega-Gibson. Casting advisor is Claire Yenson Casting, and Héctor Flores Jr. will serve as production manager.

The creative team will also feature assistant director Harmony Harris, associate music director Andrea Yohe (New York, New York), and associate choreographer Hope Easterbrook.

Millennials Are Killing Musicals has been in development since 2018, and was an O’Neill NMTC Semifinalist in 2021 and 2022. The work previously received a New York City industry reading, a songs showcase through New York Theatre Barn's New Works Series, and sold-out concert presentations.
