Matthew Lombardo's new comedy will make its world premiere at Bushnell’s Belding Theatre in Connecticut.

The world premiere of When Playwrights Kill has announced further casting for its upcoming run at Bushnell's Belding Theatre in Hartford, Connecticut. Performances of the new comedy will run July 26–August 7. 

Arnie Burton, Nik Alexander, and Irene Sofia Lucio will join the previously announced Tony nominee Jeremy Jordan, Tony winner Harriet Harris, and Tony winner André De Shields

Jordan stars as Jack Hawkins, an aspiring playwright about to make his Broadway debut with his new work, a debut threatened by difficult actress Brooke Remington, played by Harris. De Shields stars as Maurice Khalan Walker, the show's director who must keep the two from killing each other.

Burton (Peter and the Starcatcher) will play Freddie Carlton, the show's struggling theatre producer looking for a Broadway hit to revitalize his career who hires inexperienced prompter Tobias Deschanel, played by Alexander (Motown), to assist Remington with her lines. Lucio (Slave Play) will star as production stage manager Liz Jennings who attempts to keep the situation from getting out of control.

The cast will also include understudies Jake Loewenthal, Catherine LeFrere and Darius Wallace.

Noah Himmelstein is directing, joined by set designer Alexander Dodge, lighting designer Elizabeth Harper, costume designer Alejo Vietti, wig designer Charles G. LaPointe, choreographer Stephanie Pope, and magic and effects designer Skylar Fox. The production also features original music and sound design by John Gromada.

General Management is by ShowTown Theatricals, with advertising and marketing by Serino Coyne, casting by Nick Peciaro, and production stage management by Julie DeVore. Nathan Gehan, Jamison Scott, Flody Suarez, Raymond Esposito, Laura Z. Barket, and Jason and Kira Turchin serve as producers.
