Atlanta's Alliance Theatre has added two new hires to its leadership team. Marie Cisco has been named the company's BOLD associate artistic director, and Abrianna Belvedere will serve as BOLD producing associate. Both will work to support many of the company's new works initiatives, including the Alliance/Kendeda National Graduate Playwriting Competition and the Reiser Atlanta Artists Lab.

Cisco comes to the company after work as a theatre and film producer, including roles at MPAACT, National Black Theatre, and Off-Broadway's Public. She was a co-producer on The US vs. Billie Holliday and Broadway's The Wiz.

Belvedere is a producer and dramaturg who focuses on community-oriented new work showcasing southern, queer, and feminist narratives. They are co-producer of SheATL, a summer theatre festival presenting new work by female, trans, and gender non-conforming playwrights.

“The BOLD Women’s Leadership Circle has reimagined the pipeline to leadership for female+ artists by fostering active collaborations and amplifying diverse voices of emerging change-makers,” says Artistic Director Tinashe Kajese-Bolden in a statement. “My journey to leadership was paved by the investment of the BOLD Women’s Leadership Circle and the culture of mentorship the Alliance Theatre is defined by. It is my greatest honor to continue this legacy with the addition of Marie Cisco and Abrianna Belvedere to the Alliance family. Marie and Abrianna lead with artistic vitality, a penchant for adventurous work by emerging writers, and the imagination to leverage theatre’s transformative power to produce art in service of a larger vision of social change and evolution. As the Alliance Theatre launches the most ambitious expansion in our history with the new Goizueta Stage for Youth and Family, not just physically but philosophically, our vision for theatre as a birthright is even closer with the addition of these inspiring creatives.”
