Regional News World Premiere Stage Version of Jerry Herman's Mrs. Santa Claus, More in Goodspeed's 2025 Season

The Connecticut theatre is also presenting anniversary revivals of A Chorus Line and All Shook Up.

Connecticut's Goodspeed Musicals has unveiled its 2025 season, which will include a world premiere stage version of the 1996 movie musical Mrs. Santa Claus, with songs by Jerry Herman.

The musical, which will feature a book by Alexis Scheer from Mark Saltzman's screenplay, will run November 14-December 28, 2025. The property premiered on CBS in 1996 with Angela Lansbury in the title role and featuring a full-length score from Herman, reuniting with his Tony-winning Mame star. The story sees Mrs. Claus crashing 1910 New York, where she discovers a corrupt toymaker whose child workers need saving. Casting and creative team are to be announced.

The remainder of the theatre's seasons will be revivals, including a new staging of Terrence McNally, Lynn Ahrens, and Stephen Flaherty's Ragtime, directed by Christopher Betts, choreographed by Sara Edwards, and running April 25-June 15, 2025; a 20th anniversary production of the Elvis Presley jukebox musical All Shook Up, directed by Daniel Goldstein and playing June 27-August 17, 2025; and a 50th anniversary production of Marvin Hamlisch, Edward Kleban, James Kirkwood, and Nicholas Dante's A Chorus Line, directed by Rob Ruggiero, choreographed by Parker Esse, and running September 5-October 26.

Season tickets are currently on sale at Goodspeed.org. Single tickets will become available February 23, 2025.
