The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation has announced that Derrick Davis, Arielle Jacobs, and Telly Leung have joined the line-up of Broadway performers participating in Broadway Belts for PFF!. The organization's 12th annual gala will take place in-person April 29 at New York City's Edison Ballroom and will also be available via livestream.
The three actors join the previously announced Tony winner Lillias White, Astaire winner Robert Creighton, Tony winner Beth Leavel, Outer Critics winner Ann Harada, Jim Caruso, and Ruby Locknar who will be performing at the event. Returning to host the event is Tony winner Julie Halston.
Tom Viola, the executive director of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, will receive the 2022 Ralph Howard Legacy Award. The award is named for Halston's late husband, anchorman Ralph Howard, who passed away from pulmonary fibrosis.
Virtual attendees will experience a fully interactive program with a mixology class before the live show in place of the cocktail reception for in-person attendees.
"We are overwhelmed with gratitude to Julie, her production team and the stars who perform in Broadway Belts for PFF!," added William T. Schmidt, president and CEO of the PFF. "Funding from the event helps accelerate vital research and provides patient programs for those living with this debilitating disease."
The benefit is produced by D. Michael Dvorchak, Sue Frost (Memphis, Come From Away), Halston, and Ed Windels.
