Marcos Santana directs the Pulitzer Prize-winning musical at the Connecticut theatre.

Westport Country Playhouse's 2022 season opens April 6 with the pop-rock, Pulitzer Prize-winning musical Next to Normal.

Directed and choreographed by Marcos Santana, performances will continue through April 24 at the Connecticut venue.

Ashley LaLonde

The cast is headed by Darlesia Cearcy (Once On This Island) as Diana and Tony winner Wilson Jermaine Heredia (Rent) as Dan with Ashley LaLonde (Punk Rock Girl!as Natalie, Gian Perez as Henry, Daniel J. Maldonado as Gabe, and Katie Thompson (Oklahoma!) as Dr. Madden/Dr. Fine.

The exploration of a suburban family struggling with the effects of mental illness has a book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey and music by Tom Kitt. The original production won three Tony Awards, including Best Original Score for the pair.

The Westport production also has scenic design by Adam Koch, costume design by Jennifer Caprio, lighting design by Cory Pattak, sound design by Domonic Sack, music direction by Emily Croome, behavior health consulting by Nicole Eastwood, props supervision by Sean Sanford, and dramaturgy by Katie Ciszek. Casting is by Tara Rubin Casting's Claire Burke, and the production stage manager is Caitlin Kellermeyer.
