The world premiere of Off-Broadway's sandblasted has extended its run by one week. The Vineyard Theatre and WP Theater production began previews February 6 and is scheduled to open February 27 and continue now through March 13.
Penned by Charly Evon Simpson and directed by Summer L. Williams, sandblasted tells the story of two characters, Angela and Odessa, as they embark on a "sandy search for something that might not be real." Along their journey, they run into a wellness guru, Adah, and decide to follow her.
Starring in the production is Brittany Bellizeare (The Bluest Eye) as Angela, Marinda Anderson (Miss You Like Hell) as Odessa, Rolonda Watts (Rolonda) as Adah. Andy Lucien (The Blacklist) rounds out the cast.
sandblasted has scenic design by Matt Saunders, costume design by Montana Levi Blanco, lighting design by Stacey Derosier, sound design by Sadah Espii Proctor, hair and wig design by Cookie Jordan, dramaturgy by Nissy Aya, and casting by Kelly Gillespie.

The 2021 concert preceded the acclaimed Off-Broadway staging of Creel's musical inspired by his time wandering the collections at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Original Hairspray cast members Laura Bell Bundy, Marissa Jaret Winokur, and Kerry Butler star in an evening of songs and anecdotes from their careers.
The London production is part of Brooklyn Academy of Music's winter and spring 2025 season, which also includes Whitney White's Macbeth in Stride and more.
