Maulik Pancholy has joined the cast of Second Stage's upcoming Off-Broadway world premiere of To My Girls, set to begin March 15 at the Tony Kiser Theater ahead of an April 12 opening night. Pancholy completes a cast that includes the previously announced Bryan Batt at Bernie, Jay Armstrong Johnson as Curtis, Carman Lacivita as Jeff, Noah J. Ricketts as Omar, and Britton Smith as Leo.
Penned by playwright and screenwriter JC Lee (Luce, How to Get Away With Murder), the play centers on a friend group of gay men enjoying a post-pandemic vacation in Palm Springs who, after the drinks start pouring, discover some hard truths about a changed world.
A Strange Loop and Be More Chill director Stephen Brackett will helm the production, leading a creative team that includes scenic designer Arnulfo Maldonado, costume designer Sarafina Bush, lighting designer Jen Schriever, and sound designer Sinan Refik Zafar. Movement is by Patrick McCollum, and casting is by The Telsey Office.
Pancholy was last seen in Second Stage's Grand Horizons on Broadway, and is perhaps best known for playing Jonathan on TV's 30 Rock. Additional stage credits include It's Only a Play, Good for Otto, and Aunt Dan & Lemon, and his screen appearances include The Good Fight, Weeds, Web Therapy, and The Comeback.
