SEEKING

SEEKING FUTURE REPLACEMENTS FOR ENSEMBLE ROLES in MAMMA MIA! Strong contemporary singers (early 20s – mid 40s) of all races, ethnic backgrounds, and sizes who move well to comprise the ensemble and understudy the principals. All should have a great rock sound and be able to move well. May play a featured ensemble role. (See breakdown.)

The songs of the pop group Abba provide the score for this romantic comedy that contrasts the dreams and desires of a young woman about to become a bride with those of her mother, a free spirit of the 70s who never married. Mamma Mia! takes place at a taverna on a Greek island. The cast should be quirky and offbeat; we are not seeking obvious musical theater performers. Actors who sing with a strong rock sound and move well work best in this show.

PREPARATION

Prepare 16 bars of a contemporary pop song. Please no musical theatre. Bring a hardcopy headshot and resume, and sheet music in the correct key. An accompanist will be provided.
