Seeking two lesbian identifying, 18+, non-AEA actors for Pace University Directing Senior Showcase 10-minute play, Monstress of Seduction written and directed by Sam Gordon.

Availability Details
Rehearsals: Must be available to rehearse 1-2 times per week, 3 hour time slots, beginning in late January through late April, 2024. Exact schedule to be determined by actors' availability. Occasional Tuesday evening in-class rehearsals/presentations, also to be determined by actors’ availability.
Location: Rehearsals will be at Pace University in the Financial District. 140 Williams Street, New York, NY 10038 and 87 Nassau, New York, NY 10038.

The performance will take place at Mabou Mines in the East Village on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025.
Synopsis
Monstress of Seduction is about Scarlett, a femme lesbian of the present day, fantasizing about Vic, a butch lesbian vampire character from a 1950s lesbian pulp fiction novel. Vic appears in Scarlett’s bedroom trying to save her from a lingering danger, but Scarlett is more concerned with relishing in this thrilling fictional love. However, if Scarlett wants romance that is more than a mere fleeting fantasy, she must first confront her internalized shame surrounding her lesbian identity.
Intimacy:
During rehearsal and performance, actors must be comfortable with extended lip-to-lip contact (kissing) and embracing. A trained intimacy coordinator will choreograph all intimacy in line with the actor's personal boundaries. Actors are encouraged to ask questions or raise any concerns via email. Please note actors will not be asked to perform intimacy during auditions or callbacks.

Please note: Seeking lesbian-identifying actors. Actors of all racial and ethnic identities, and body types are encouraged to audition.
SCARLETT: Femme lesbian, open to all racial/ethnic identities, 20s-30s, must be 18+. Scarlett is a present day bookworm who lives her life vicariously through the fictional characters she reads about. She loves indulging in fantasies and colorful worlds that are unlike her own reality. She is imaginative, introspective, but held back by internalized homophobia and shame of her identity.
VIC: Butch lesbian, open to all racial/ethnic identities, 20s-30s, must be 18+. Vic is a fictional character in “Monstress of Seduction”, a lesbian pulp fiction novel from 1953. She is a typical swoon-worthy love interest, chivalrous, loving, and protective of Scarlett. She is an alluring yet loving vampire with a hint of a dark side. She has been deemed a monster by society and thus is outcasted. Loving her is so wrong, but it feels so right.
