DESCRIPTION
Kids at Work in Flatiron, Manhattan needs a part time singer-guitarist to work with infants and toddlers on a long-term/regular basis.
The Schedule -
Wednesday midday, Thursday morning 9 am-1 pm. Class times are somewhat flexible and additional hours may become available.
We would like to begin training ASAP, so please only reply if you are currently NYC local! Ideal candidates will be in NYC for the long term. That said, once our musicians get going and have a following with us, we are very flexible if you need to leave the city for under a month for performing opportunities.
The Work -
Kids at Work will provide training that will help you to see the magic and satisfaction in playing music for and with infants and toddlers. The music is not boring, and our artists are encouraged to bring in their own material/cover work and rep that inspires them and challenges our listeners both old and young. Kids at Work is committed to making sure musicians feel completely confident before doing their first solo class.
The Pay -
We pay per class and the pay works out to $30-35 per hour. We pay $20 per hour for training prior to your official start date of teaching and $25 per hour for any ongoing training. We do NOT pay for your time in learning the songs. The songs are very simple.
Per NYC mandate all staff members must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Masks are currently optional at Kids at Work.
Your experience -
Strong preference is given to those that have experience in a classroom with infants/toddlers/twos. Our musicians must play guitar and sing VERY well. Playing guitar is essential, teachers may NOT play ukulele in these classes, only guitar. Ability to learn new songs very quickly is a must.
