The Fireside Theatre (Fort Atkinson, WI) is holding an open call for non-equity performers for principal roles in their production of Disney’s THE LITTLE MERMAID; Book: Doug Wright; Music: Alan Menken; Lyrics: Howard Ashman, Glenn Slater; Director: Heather Patterson King – will attend; Musical Director: Mary Ehlinger; Choreographer: Kristyn Pope – will attend; Producer: Ed Flesch – will attend.

We will hold a live in-person audition on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Open Jar Studios, 1601 Broadway, 11^th floor. This audition is by appointment only. You cannot sign up the day of the audition. To secure an audition appointment send your headshot and resume to auditions@firesidetheatre.com. Submissions must be received no later than 5:00PM EST on April 19, 2025.

Seeking:

Ariel—20’s - A mermaid who longs to be human. Strong singer and dancer who must be able to convey meaning through gesture and movement. Vocal Range: Soprano Bb3-Eb5

Prince Eric - 20’s – An adventurous Prince who capture’s Ariel’s heart. Strong actor and singer. Vocal Range: Baritone/Tenor Bb3-Eb5

Sebastian Late 20’s – 40’s - a meticulous and anxious crab who tries to keep Ariel safe. Strong singer and comic actor who sings the Calypso number “Under The Sea.” Must move well. Vocal Range: Strong Mix-Belt B3-D5

Ursula Late 30’s – 40’s Manipulative sea witch who tries to overthrow King Triton. Strong actor and singer with character voice. Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano Belt C4-C#5

Flounder 20’s- 30’s - Ariel’s sincere and sensitive best friend who is loyal to the end. Spunky actor and singer. Vocal Range: G3-Db5

Scuttle 20’s – 30’s - A loudmouthed, optimistic seagull who is an ‘expert’ in human artifacts. Strong Character Voice and movement. Tap Experience a plus. Vocal Range: Tenor/Alto C3-G4

King Triton Late 30’s -40’s Ariel’s commanding and over-protective Father. Vocal Range: Baritone/ Tenor Ab2-F4

Mersisters— 20’s - Ariel’s sisters: Aquata, Andrina, Arista, Atina, Adella, Allana. Must be able to create unique personalities and potentially character voices. Should be strong dancers. Vocal Range: Varies

Flotsam/Jetsam — 20’s -30’s The oily and spineless eel lackeys to Ursula. Strong character movement. Vocal Range: Varies

Grimsby— 30’s – 50’s Prince Eric’s stuffy British guardian. Strong comedic actor who can do British accent. Vocal Range: C3-C4

Chef Louis- Late 20’s – 40’s - French Palace chef with a diabolical side. Strong comedic actor and singer, who can do a French Accent. Vocal Range: Bb2-A4

Carlotta – 30’s – 50’s Headmistress of the palace, maternal figure toward Ariel. Non-singing.
