DESCRIPTION

Left Eye Theatrical LLC, a NYC theatrical production company, is seeking musical theatre writers (Bookwriters, Lyricists, Composers, or any combination of the three) for the development of two recently-optioned properties.


PROJECT #1

A full length musical adaptation of a popular YA book series


PROJECT #2

A full length musical about a historical event that inspired a popular children’s book series


NOTES:

  • Both projects have budgets and developmental schedules assigned for 2025-early 2026, so we are specifically seeking people who can work quickly and efficiently, adhering to deadlines, to produce initial, readable/ workable drafts

  • Creative teams (Director/ Choreographer, Musical Director) are already assigned to both projects, and will be heavily involved in developing these projects. Both projects are passion projects for those individuals.

  • Selected teams will receive a flat commission fee for their work, as well as a fee structure for developmental phases - all of this will be outlined in a specific contract upon hiring


TO SUBMIT, PLEASE SEND:

  • Composers: send audio recordings/ sheet music of two songs that you feel are your best work and best represent you as an artist

  • Lyricists: send a sample of the lyrics two songs that you feel are your best work

  • Bookwriters: send two scene samples, one of which should lead directly into a song

All candidates should also include a resume.
