DESCRIPTION

Black Spectrum Theatre located in the heart of SouthEast Jamaica Queens is currently in its 55th season, continuing the legacy of nourishing new generations of artists highlighting the truth and joy of storytelling with a focus on BIPOC creatives!

We are looking for actors for our last play of the season before our summer programming begins!

"Wednesday Women" written by Jeanette Hill and directed by Bianca LaVerne Jones is a heartwarming, humorous and soul stirring journey that asks the ultimate question "Can there be any balance between the woman who has given you everything and the woman who is your everything?"

Seeking actors that fit the roles below:

BROOKE YOUNG 50's, divorced and widowed, entrepreneur

ELIAS (pronounced E-LEE-AS) THURMAN 40's, divorced, successful businessman.

MELBA THURMAN 60's, intrusive, religious, nosey, lonely

SYDNEY MALONE 20's, Elias’ ambitious new co-worker

HAYDEN EVANS 60's, Neighborhood handyman or gardener

LUCY RUSHEN 60's, Melba’s longtime friend

First rehearsal:
Tuesday, April 15th 6pm-10pm
Rehearsal schedule:
Tuesdays-Fridays 6:00pm-10:00pm
Saturdays 12pm-4pm
Performances:
Thursday, May 8th 7pm
Friday, May 9th 7pm
Saturday May 10th 2pm and 7pm
Thursday, May 15th 7pm
Friday, May 16th 7pm
Saturday, May 17th 2pm and 7pm
Sunday, May 18th 4pm
