The London production of the international hit musical Wicked, which tells the untold story of the Witches of Oz, becomes the 10th longest-running production in West End history when it plays its 6,762nd performance at the Apollo Victoria Theatre April 24.
Surpassing the run of the farce No Sex Please, We’re British, which ran June 1971–September 1987, Wicked joins other top 10 long runners The Mousetrap, Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera, The Woman in Black, Blood Brothers, Mamma Mia!, Cats, The Lion King, and Starlight Express.

The London production currently stars Alexia Khadime as Elphaba, Lucy St. Louis as Glinda, Ryan Reid as Fiyero, Sophie-Louise Dann as Madame Morrible, Michael Fenton Stevens as The Wizard, Caitlin Anderson as Nessarose, Graham Kent as Doctor Dillamond, Joe Thompson-Oubari as Boq, Laura Harrison as the Standby for Elphaba, and Christine Tucker as the Standby for Glinda.
The ensemble includes Zac Adlam, Conor Ashman, Jessica Aubrey, Jeremy Batt, Felipe Bejarano, Asmara Cammock, Joshua Clemetson, Effie Rae Dyson, Aston Newman Hannington, Aimee Hodnett, Kate Leiper, Jemima Loddy, Joshua Lovell, Rory Maguire, PaddyJoe Martin, Darnell Mathew-James, Millie Mayhew, Ayden Morgan, Rishard-Kyro Nelson, Aiesha Naomi Pease, Jeanie Ryan, Natalie Spriggs, Charlotte Anne Steen, James Titchener, Micaela Todd, Taela Yeomans-Brown, and Jacob Young.
With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman, the musical is based on the novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire.
The Joe Mantello-helmed production features musical staging by Wayne Cilento, scenic design by Eugene Lee, costume design by Susan Hilferty, lighting design by Kenneth Posner, sound design by Tony Meola, projections by Elaine J. McCarthy, wig and hair design by Tom Watson, music supervision and arrangements by Stephen Oremus, orchestrations by William David Brohn, and dance arrangements by James Lynn Abbott.
The hit Broadway production continues at the Gershwin Theatre.
