The musical, based on the 1987 film, stars Ben Fankhauser and Ashley Blanchett leading a Broadway alum-studded cast.

The Secret of My Success begins its regional premiere at Houston, Texas' The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts October 25. Presented by Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) and Universal Theatrical Group, the production is set to run through November 6.

Broadway alum Ben Fankhauser (Newsies) leads the cast as Brantley Foster alongside Ashley Blanchett as Christy Lockhart. Also starring are Broadway alum Sally Wilfert as Vera Prescott, Brian Mathis as Piers Johnson, Susan Koozin as Joann Foster, Melrose Johnson as Rose, Gemini Quintos as Lester Mann, Regina Hearne as Sylvia Popkin, and Ernie Lockhart as A.J. Dada.

With themes of corporate culture, ambition, and making your own way, the comedic musical takes a look at "redefining what success means to you when the world around you changes," according to press notes. The Secret of My Success is based on the 1987 film of the same name starring Michael J. Fox, and features a book by Gordon Greenberg and Steve Rosen with music and lyrics by Michael Mahler and Alan Schmuckler.

Anthony Boggess-Glover, Austin Colburn, Jack Gereski, Miles Marmolejo, Trey Harrington, T.J. Newton, Chelsea Ryan McCurdy, Sarah Sachi, Briana Steptoe, Yasmyn Sumiyoshi, Holland Vavra, and Teresa Zimmermann are featured in the company. Lydia Berckley, Mariah Cooper, Izzy Harris, Lauren Schweers, Kyler Huyse, and Rizal Patagoc—all students from TUTS Humphreys School—round out the ensemble.

TUTS Artistic Director Dan Knechtges (Lysistrata Jones) directs and choreographs the work, helming the creative team comprised of music director Charlie Alterman, scenic designer Jeffrey D. Kmiec, costume designer Colleen Grady, lighting designer Ryan O'Gara, projection designer Mike Tutaj, sound designer Andrew Harper, and hair and makeup designer Kelley Jordan. Casting is by Calleri Jensen Davis Casting and by TUTS Associate Artistic Director Monique Midgette.

The comedy musical previously premiered in Chicago.
