As part of his role co-directing, Teller has developed the magic in the show in collaboration with magic designer and illusionist Johnny Thompson and assistant magic designer Christopher Rose. The productions blends different forms of magic, from illusion and levitation to sleight of hand. 

CST's re-imagining of the classic tale also features music by Kathleen Brennan, a longtime collaborator of Waits, as well as choreography from the acclaimed dance troupe Pilobolus. Performances take place in the Courtyard Theatre, running through Nov. 8.

Set on a magical island, The Tempest is Shakespeare's story of young love and old revenge, as a sorcerer attempts to avenge those who betrayed him decades before by casting a series of spells.

Joining Yando in the cast are Eva Louise Balistrieri in the role of Miranda, Prospero's daughter; Luigi Sottile as Ferdinand; Nate Dendy as Ariel; and Manelich Minniefee and Zach Eisenstat both playing Caliban. The cast also features Barbara Robertson, Adam Wesley Brown, Lawrence Grimm, Michael Aaron Lindner, John Lister and Ron E. Rains.

The production weaves the music of Waits and Brennan, with the choreography of the Pilobolus dance collective, led by associate artistic director Matt Kent. The creative team also includes scenic designer Daniel Conway, lighting designer Thom Weaver, Tony-winning costume designer Paloma Young with additional costumes by Rachel Laritz, sound designer Ray Nardelli and wig and make-up designer Melissa Veal.
