News Tanya Barfield's Bright Half Life Brings Stellar Romance Off-Broadway, Starting Tonight The Women's Project Theatre world premiere of Bright Half Life, a play about two women in love by Pulitzer Prize nominee Tanya Barfield, begins performances Feb. 17, directed by Tony Award nominee Leigh Silverman (Violet).

Starring Rebecca Henderson (Appropriate Behavior) and Rachael Holmes (Ruined), the official opening night is set for Feb. 25, and performances will continue through March 22 at New York City Center Stage II.

Barfield's new play explores the relationship between two women in love. According to press notes, "Erica meets Vicky. Vicky marries Erica. Lives collide. Rewind. Pause. Fast forward. Bright Half Life is a kaleidoscopic new play about love, skydiving and the infinite moments that make a life together."

The creative team includes set designer Rachel Hauck (This Wide Night), costume designer Emily Rebholz (If/Then), lighting designer Jen Schriever (The Other Josh Cohen) and sound designer Bart Fasbender (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson).

The production marks the third collaboration between the playwright and director; Barfield and Silverman previously partnered on the critically acclaimed plays Blue Door and The Call, both staged at Playwrights Horizons. The former saw Barfield as a nominee for the 2007 Pulitzer Prize.
