As announced earlier this week, newcomer Gabriela Carrillo will be taking on the role of Catherine Parr for the North American Tour of Six.
Carrillo is a first generation Mexican American who was raised in Chicago, the first stop of the tour. An occasional vlogger, she shared emotional footage of her calling her parents to tell them the result of her two year journey auditioning for the role.

The U.K.-born musical, a pop-concert-meets-history-lesson celebration of Henry VIII's ill-fated wives, opened at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre following a stateside, multi-city pre-Broadway tour. The North American tour is set to begin March 29 in Chicago.
Six, co-written by Lucy Moss and Toby Marlow and co-directed by Moss and Jamie Armitage, features a set by Emma Bailey, costumes by Gabrielle Slade, lighting by Tim Deiling, and sound design by Paul Gatehouse. Casting is by Peter Van Dam of Tara Rubin Casting.
