Broadway theatre-owning group The Shubert Organization has named Jeff T. Daniel as president, effective immediately. The move is a promotion for Daniel, who has been the company's chief strategy officer since 2023. Daniel will continue to report to Chairman and CEO Robert E. Wankel in his new role.
Prior to his time at Shubert, Daniel served a 14-year tenure at touring presenter Broadway Across America, first as an executive vice president of business operations and later as co-chief executive officer. He's also held roles at Lewis + Daniel Group, WhiteFence, and iHeartMedia.
“Jeff’s background, both at Shubert and prior to joining our company make him extremely well suited for this role,” says Wankel in a statement. “For the past two years at Shubert, Jeff has been working on strategic initiatives as he familiarizes himself with our company. And importantly, Jeff was a driving force in securing government funding for Broadway’s post-pandemic revitalization. Having him by my side will ensure Shubert’s strength and legacy for years to come. We congratulate him on this well-deserved appointment.”
“I’m honored to serve this American institution, and I am committed to the continued success and stability of both Shubert and the greater theatre industry," adds Daniel. "Shubert holds a special place in my heart, as it does for millions of theatregoers, and I am proud to work alongside Bob, with Shubert’s talented leadership team and our impressive colleagues throughout the company."
The Shubert Organization is Broadway's largest theatre owner, controlling 17 venues on the Main Stem, six Off-Broadway spaces, and the Forrest Theatre in Philadelphia. Along with being a producer on numerous productions every season, the group has an extensive footprint in Broadway ticketing. The Shubert's Telecharge is one of Broadway's leading public-facing ticket outlets, and the company runs Broadway Inbound for group sales as well. The organization also has a charitable arm, The Shubert Foundation, dedicated to supporting and advancing live performing arts.
