Performances begin June 2 for 5th Avenue Theatre's “revisal” of Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe’s Gold Rush musical Paint Your Wagon. The Seattle staging features a new book adaptation by Pulitzer Prize nominee Jon Marans and stars Tony nominee Robert Cuccioli.
Performances of Paint Your Wagon are set to run through June 25 with direction by artistic director David Armstrong and choreography by Josh Rhodes. Ian Eisendrath is music director.
The cast also features Kendra Kassebaum, Justin Gregory Lopez, Kirsten Delohr Helland, Eric Ankrim, Kyle Robert Carter, Steven Eng, Allen Fitzpatrick, Rodney Hicks, Louis Hobson, Mikko Juan, Eli Lotz, Kyle Bernbach, Jared Michael Brown, Ethan Carpenter, Taryn Darr, Sarah Rose Davis, Eric Esteb, Paul Flanagan, Ulyber Mangune, Trina Mills, Aaron Shanks, Brenna Wagner, Nicholas Tarabini and Carolyn Willems Van Dijk.
Set in a remote mining town during the height of the Gold Rush, Paint Your Wagon tells the story of a group of men and women from around the world who journey to California in pursuit of the great American dream. It originally opened on Broadway in 1951 and was revived at New York City Center last year as part of Encores!
