For those eager to sit in the courtroom of Suzie Miller's Olivier-winning Prima Faciegood news: the play is extending its run at the John Golden Theatre by two weeks to July 2. Starring Emmy and 2023 Olivier winner Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), it opened April 23 to critical acclaim. Read the reviews here.

In addition to the extension announcement, the show has announced it will offer rush tickets at $45 a seat beginning May 2. The tickets will be sold in person only at the box office, and are offered in addition to the show's online $10 ticket digital lottery.

The play follows British defense lawyer Tessa, played by Jodie Comer (Killing Eve), who works her way from a working-class background to a rising star in the legal field. Often assigned to defend men accused of sexual assault, she dedicates her career to a system she believes in. But her whole world is thrown into question after she ends up in the witness stand. Dani Arlington serves as understudy.

Prima Facie began years ago in the back of playwright Suzie Miller’s mind when she was a law student and then a defense lawyer. “You're taught to think in a certain way. But when you actually take a step to the side, you think, ‘Actually, the system's not working that well.’” Miller seeks to “call out the legal system” and highlight one of the issues which continues post the #MeToo movement. “It’s one thing to have #MeToo. But then if you bring people to a legal system that's not caught up with the rest of the community, you're letting them down for even speaking up." Learn more about what Miller, Comer, and the creative team had to say on opening night about the show and the conversations they hope it starts.
