Originally scheduled to play nine performances December 20–30, the two-time Olivier winner has added six additional performances January 2–8, 2023. The December dates are now sold out; tickets for the additional performances will go on sale September 14 at noon.
The evenings, entitled Songs From a Hat, will feature the Broadway favorite performing an intimate concert, with the song list randomly chosen from a hat. Attendees can expect songs, both new and old, and stories from her award-winning career. Each performance will feature a different set list.
LuPone, who premiered Songs From a Hat in May for Lincoln Center Theater's 2022 Gala, also won Tonys for her performances in Evita and the 2008 revival of Gypsy; she won her first Olivier Award for her work in The Cradle Will Rock and Les Misérables, and her second for the 2019 London revival of Company.
Consisting of four distinct programs dedicated to supporting early career playwrights, the festival has formalized Second Stage Theater’s artistic pipeline.
The musical, a reinvention of Tim Burton’s cult classic film Edward Scissorhands, uses the pop music of Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Alanis Morissette, and more.
