Created by writer/director Billy Mitchell and presented by Brenda Braxton, Villain: DeBlanks is a show that blends mystery-solving with improvisation. For each performance, the cast must use words suggested by the audience. Past celebrity guests include Daisy Eagan, Tony nominee Geneva Carr and Ann Harada.
"As they try to enact the story of Philip DeBlanks’ untimely death, the unrehearsed actors are asked to dig deep for whatever they can to maintain themselves and their dignity, usually with little success," state press notes.
Along with Margherita, the Feb. 7 cast also includes Jim Newman, Kate Wetherhead, Trent Armand Kendall, Hank Morris, Eddie Capuano and Laura Heywood. The series will continue to play on the first Sunday of the month through April 3. Michael Riedel will be featured as a special media guest along with NY 1 News Culture Reporter Stephanie Simon.
Tickets are $25 with some of the proceeds benefiting the Humane Society of New York. Villain: DeBlanks has been staged previously at Feinstein's/54 Below, Joe's Pub and Bucks County Playhouse, among other venues.
The Triad is located at 158 West 72nd St., Manhattan. For tickets and information, visit VillaindeBlanks.com.
