Kafkaesque!, a new musical mash-up of the stories of Franz Kafka, will make its world premiere Off-Broadway at 154 Christopher Street, with performances running October 18-November 15.
With a book, music, and lyrics by James Harvey, Kafkaesque! transplants the predicaments from Kafka's stories (including The Trial and The Metamorphosis) onto one contemporary American family. The work played a developmental run at 2023's New York Theater Festival.
Ashley Brooke Monroe is directing, with Harvey himself set to star as Kafka and several other roles. Additional casting and creative team members are to be announced.
Patrick Trettenero and Staro Industries are producing.
