New musical Noir by Tony winner Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening, American Psycho) and Tony nominee Kyle Jarrow (The SpongeBob Musical) will make its world premiere at Houston, Texas' Alley Theatre with a run set for June 2-July 3. The musical officially opens June 9.
Starring in the production are Broadway alums Christy Altomare (Anastasia, Mamma Mia!) as Scarlet, Adam Kantor (The Band's Visit, Fiddler on the Roof) as The Neighbor, and Morgan Marcell (Hamilton, Moulin Rouge! The Musical!) as The Wife.
Other Broadway veterans to be featured in the cast are David Guzman (Hamilton) as The Husband, Clifton Samuels (Follies) as The Boss, and Voltaire Wade-Greene (Hamilton) as The Goon joined by Sinclair Daniel as The Kid.
The musical brings the noir film genre to the stage with the story of a heartbroken man turned recluse who finds comfort in his radio until his new neighbors, a couple, move into the apartment next door. The lives of the three become entangled in a dangerous way as his eavesdropping turns from entertainment to obsession Then a couple moves in next door.
Sheik and Jarrow, who previously collaborated on Whisper House Off-Broadway, are joined on the Noir creative team by director Darko Tresnjak (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder) and choreographer Karla Puno Garcia (tick, tick...BOOM!).
Also included will be scenic designer Alexander Dodge (Anastasia), costume designer Linda Cho (A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder), lighting designer Ben Stanton (Spring Awakening), sound designer Dan Moses Schreier (West Side Story), projection designer Aaron Rhyne (Anastasia), fight director and intimacy coordinator Adam Noble, stage manager Linda Marvel, and assistant stage managers Trey Johnson and Jordan Canon-Kruis. Vocal arrangements will be by music director Jason Hart.
