Produced by Michael Urie and performed by Drew Droege, Happy Birthday Doug has set its Off-Broadway return at SoHo Playhouse for four shows June 23-26 in celebration of Pride weekend.

The work is directed by Tom DeTrinis and described as a "celebration of modern gay culture." It follows Doug at his 41st birthday party which sees his friends, exes, nightmares, and more make appearances.

The solo comedy was previously workshopped at New York's Pride Celebration in 2019 before playing at the Celebration Theater and Dynasty Typewriter in Los Angeles. The show played a 2020 run at Soho Playhouse, but closed early due to the pandemic.

The work is a follow-up to Droege's Bright Colors And Bold Patterns which ran Off-Broadway for five months at the SoHo Playhouse in 2018, and can be streamed via BroadwayHD.
