Video WATCH: George Salazar Sings New Version of Joe Iconis' ‘The Goodbye Song’ The Be More Chill star and composer Joe Iconis go inside the studio with the new rendition from Two-Player Game.

“‘The Goodbye Song’ is my favorite song that you've ever written,” performer George Salazar admits to composer Joe Iconis in the video above.

Iconis and Salazar take audiences inside their new album Two-Player Game from Ghostlight Records. Released July 27, Two-Player Game is currently available via physical, streaming, and digital formats. Produced by Ian Kagey and Kurt Deutsch, the album includes songs such as “Broadway, Here I Come!” from Smash, “Michael in the Bathroom” and the titular “Two-Player Game” from Be More Chill, “Tiny Short Little Song,” “The Answer,” and “The Goodbye Song.”

The program was originally presented in concert at Feinstein’s/54 Below.

“Because ‘The Goodbye Song’ has been recorded before, I wanted to do something that was totally different from the other version,” Iconis explains. “Something that was super intimate, super sparse—and then we workshopped it and we arrived at this arrangement that feels kind of like a prayer.”

“A prayer slash lullaby,” Salazar adds. Watch the duo inside the recording studio.
