DESCRIPTION

Tony Award-winning Broadway production office is seeking a summer intern. National Artists Management Company (NAMCO) aims to provide a hands-on, immersive opportunity for aspiring arts professionals working toward degrees in arts (or arts-related fields). Interns will support in the areas of Creative, Management, and Marketing and gain in-depth knowledge of the industry through work on its slate of productions.

Arts Management and Administration students are encouraged to apply. Previous administrative internship experience a plus. NY Minimum Hourly Compensation.

Duration: May 28th, 2024 - August 30th, 2024

Hours: 11am-5pm / 3 days per week

Your Responsibilities:

■ Read new musical/play submissions and attend external staged readings of new works and write script coverage.

■ Assist with the preparation and execution of any NAMCO 29 Hour Readings, Workshops, and/or Opening Nights (as schedule calls for).

■ Assist in organizing literary/management materials for each of our productions.

■ Joining casting sessions, rehearsals, and general meetings as schedule permits.

■ Assist and communicate with our external creative/marketing agencies.

■ Represent NAMCO at promotional events (when applicable).

■ Prepare for and help to execute any pre and post-show Marketing events.

■ Maintain press and advertising files (as needed).

■ Assist in strategic outreach for show campaigns.

■ Assist in marketing and sales reporting.

■ Providing support to the administration staff, general managers, company managers, and various production and facility personnel (as needed).


What You Bring to the Team:

■ Interest in pursuing a career in Arts Management/Producing/General Management/Marketing.

■ A desire to learn about the inner workings of a major commercial producing office.

■ Strong communication skills, with an emphasis on research, writing, organization, and phone.

■ A passion for the new works development processes (plays and musicals).

■ Attention to detail.

■ Time management skills.

■ The ability to multitask and a desire to learn.

■ Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel), Google Suite, and the Adobe Creative Suites.

■ Previous administrative and/or leadership experience (college, former job/internship/etc) a plus.


REQUIREMENTS:

● A fully completed application.

● Enrollment in an accredited college or university.

● One letter of recommendation from a professor, mentor, or someone who can speak to your abilities and passion for the arts.

● One writing sample of a theatrical review.

SALARY

$16.00 – $16.00 per hour
