Celebrate the influence and contributions of African-American artists. Promote emerging creative voices across cultural and artistic platforms. We are currently seeking dedicated customer service professionals to join our team as Restroom Attendants.

Job Summary:

The Apollo Theater is currently in need of restroom attendants for immediate placement. This position requires availability for day, evening, and weekend events, ranging from one to four shows per week. Ideal for retirees seeking part-time work, the Apollo Theater, located on Harlem’s historic 125th Street, is a renowned live entertainment venue and popular tourist destination offering music, dance, films, and special events. Punctuality and excellent interpersonal skills are vital. Candidates should feel comfortable working with diverse audiences and colleagues. Duties include maintaining cleanliness in designated areas, restroom upkeep, trash disposal, and assisting guests in a courteous manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Primarily responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in the male restroom.
Ensure cleanliness and provide courteous service in assigned areas.
Replenish restroom supplies such as paper towels, soap, and toilet paper.
Prioritize guest and team member safety.
Maintain image, cleanliness, and courtesy standards during events.
Collaborate effectively with all Apollo staff members, including management.
Promptly report any maintenance issues.
Cleaning agents will be provided.

Minimum Requirements:

Proficiency in English with effective communication skills for interacting with both management and guests.
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Reliable transportation for early morning starts and late evening shifts.
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and variable hours.

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Strong verbal communication skills.
Ability to present information effectively and respond to inquiries.
Motivation, persistence, and patience when dealing with diverse groups of people.
Capability to stand for extended periods, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Capacity to repeatedly open theater doors throughout the shift.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Availability for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

Background Checks: Successful completion of Criminal and NSODB Background Checks required for all applicants.

Vaccination Requirement: All employees must be fully vaccinated, unless accommodations are necessary due to disability or religious beliefs.
