Tony Awards Meet the 2024 First-Time Tony Nominees

From Sarah Paulson to Jocelyn Bioh, here are the 70 people who just got nominated for a Tony for the first time.

They say you never forget your first time. And judging by the excitement of the folks who called Playbill today, they may be right. The 2024 Tony Award nominations have been announced and we have counted 70 first-time nominees amongst them.

This includes playwright David Adjmi, whose play Stereophonic has 13 nominations and is the most Tony-nominated play ever. "When I started work on Stereophonic 11 years ago, I didn’t think it would end up on Broadway; I didn’t know if it would even be produced," he told us

But it's not just Adjmi, who made his Broadway debut with the play. A number of veteran artists also just got nominated for the first time, including Sarah Paulson (for Appropriate), Rachel McAdams (Mary Jane), and William Jackson Harper (Uncle Vanya). Below, meet the 72 first-time Tony nominees, and read more of their reactions here (for musical nominees) and here (for play nominees).
