DESCRIPTION

Blank Page Theatre Co. is seeking play submissions from playwrights for their 2024 annual summer theater festival.

Submission Guidelines:
Plays must be centered around this year's theme of AI.

AI has started changing the way we live our daily lives. People have started using it for fun to create art, music, and poetry. Schools have started to teach how to use it in practical ways to help write papers and increase the cohesiveness of college applications. Some people see it as good- others fear what the future of AI could look like for humans.

We are interested in your plays that dive deep into the question of AI and its implications on our society. Is it good, is it bad, is it just a fad that will be gone in a few years?

The plays you submit should revolve around this theme and these questions.

Details:
Blank Page Theatre Co. is seeking both long and short plays. Short plays must be between 10-30 minutes, full length plays are 75-90 minutes.

Playwrights must be willing to workshop their play with a team of directors and actors, and will be provided with ample time and mentorship for this workshop period.

If selected, playwrights will receive production shots as well as a video of their performance.

All selected plays will be performed at the Blank Page Theatre Co Summer festival at the end of summer - final date TBD.

Playwrights do not need to be local to NY to submit, remote workshop opportunities and Zoom rehearsals are available.

Submission deadline is May 10th.
