Compensation: $50,000 to $70,000 however, the compensation offered may vary depending upon relevant knowledge, skills, and experience.

Job Summary: The Licensing Compliance Associate, a newly created role, will work collaboratively with MTI’s Amateur Licensing, Professional Licensing, and Business and Legal Affairs departments. The Licensing Compliance Associate will actively identify and address unlicensed productions of MTI’s shows and will conduct investigations to ensure that licensed customers comply with the terms of their agreements while protecting the intellectual property of MTI and the musicals that MTI represents. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and proactive, with a strong interest in musical theatre and intellectual property.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Identifying, researching, and taking appropriate action in connection with the unauthorized distribution of licensed materials and the production of unlicensed MTI musicals shows.

2. Preparing cease and desist letters matters (under the supervision of MTI’s Legal Dept.) copyright takedown notices, reports, and other documents related to licensing compliance and enforcement.

3. Communicating with MTI’s licensed producers to ensure compliance with the terms of MTI’s licenses., including adherence to payment terms and intellectual property usage requirements.

4. Collaborating with other MTI departments to develop, implement, and maintain policies, and procedures related to licensing compliance and enforcement matters.

5. Maintaining and analyzing accurate records of licensing compliance and enforcement activities.

Job Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

2. Authorized to work in the United States of America;

3. 2-3 years of relevant intellectual property and/or enforcement experience;

4. Strong research and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail;

5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively on a team;

7. Familiarity with intellectual property law and licensing agreements;

8. Proficiency in both written and spoken Spanish a plus

9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant programs.
