DESCRIPTION

Playgarden Prep is seeking an early childhood enrichment teacher to teach a variety of mommy-and-me style classes for infants and toddler-aged children, and birthday party coaches to set up and run weekend parties for children ages 1-7. While previous experience is recommended, candidates without experience who are interested in pursuing a career in early childhood education or childcare are encouraged to apply.

Enrichment Teacher Position

Classes taught include Music, Movement/Sports, Early Learning, S.T.E.A.M., Hip-Hop, and Language Immersion (Spanish, French, and Mandarin). Candidates with multilingual proficiency are especially encouraged to apply! Enrichment classes take place Mondays thru Fridays at our Tribeca location, are 45 minutes at a time, and shifts are between 3-5 hours. In addition to teaching the class, enrichment teachers are responsible for setting up and cleaning up before/after class. Curriculum is provided, and enrichment teachers will be trained by the Enrichment Manager or other training/supervisory staff members. This is a part-time position, with an expected range of hours between 5 and 20 per week depending on applicant's availability. Pay range starts at $18 per hour, with opportunity for increases based on experience.

Party Coach Position

1 hour before party, coaches set up Sports Floor and gather all party materials including instruments, puppets, sports equipment, catering, drinks etc. Coaches greet all guests in the lobby for the first 15 minutes of the party and lead all party activities following party programming provided by Birthday Party coordinator on the Sports floor and indoor Playground depending on party package. After party is done, coaches break down and clean party area and reset the space. Shifts are Saturdays and Sundays and are flexible based on party bookings, with shifts typically lasting for 3-4 hours at a time between 9:30AM and 7PM. Party coach assistants make a rate of $22 per hour, and party coach leads are paid $25 per hour. All party coaches split any tips received at the end of each party.
