DESCRIPTION

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Management – 70%

· Ensure that optimal internal controls and reporting systems are properly designed and maintained, and provide meaningful and timely information that is organized and continuously monitored.

· Design, analyze, and present financial reports, forecasts, updates, graphic visuals, and other information in a clear, accurate, and timely manner.

· Manage rolling monthly forecasts.

· Clearly and engagingly share monthly and annual financial statements and other pertinent

information with staff and the Board.

· Institute a rigorous financial planning and analysis process to determine areas of potential

revenue enhancement, cost reduction, program/production improvement, and policy change.

· Monitor results against budget, forecast to the end of the year, and keep the Board’s

Finance Committee apprised.

· Manage cash flow needs, including building a monthly cash flow plan, with detailed revenue

and expenditure planning across all departments of the organization.

· Oversee the annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the Finance Committee.

· Effectively coordinate and lead audits with external auditors and the Finance Committee.

· Support the Artistic Director and Board to develop annual and long-term financial plans that

align with strategic goals.

Compliance and Risk Management – 15%

· Oversee and ensure accurate 990 filing.

· Collaborate with payroll company and oversee the timely and accurate filing of employment taxes including 941, L & I, Unemployment, WAFMLA, etc.

· Maintain personnel, employment, payroll, performance review, and leave records.

· Ensure organizational and individual compliance with local, state, and federal law.

· Manage and develop benefits administration.

· Ensure insurance coverage (D&O, liability, auto, property, employee-related health coverage, payroll, etc.) is adequate and appropriate, given the theater’s risk profile.

HR and Administration – 15%

● Familiarize themselves with the Company’s strategic plan and proactively contribute to the implementation of the applicable objectives.

●Streamline, centralize and maintain accurate, timely, and employee-focused payroll processes.

● Maintain personnel, employment, payroll, performance review, and leave records.

● Manage banking, credit, and investment relationships.

● Work transparently with all external partners, third-party vendors, and consultants.

● Enhance the financial competency of the senior leadership team and Board.

●Manage finance staff, including hiring, onboarding, training, coaching and managing performance, ensuring professional development and growth.

● Supervise and develop IT strategies with the IT Director.

In addition, all employees shall adhere to Company policies and procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook; work safely; perform duties as workload necessitates; maintain a positive and respectful attitude; utilize discretion regarding proprietary information; communicate regularly with supervisor about departmental issues; demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctuality; participate in Company events as needed or required; and complete other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND CHARACTERISTICS

● A bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration, accounting, or related field; CPA desirable.

● 5+ years of broad non-profit financial and operations management experience with final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting, and audit coordination, ideally at a theater company.

● Strong leadership skills including self-awareness, communication, flexibility strategic thinking, and the ability to balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail.

● Interest and proven success in managing staff, with the ability to motivate, engage, maximize performance, and support professional growth.

● A successful track record of keen analytic, organization, and problem-solving skills, which support and enable sound decision-making.

● Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information in a clear and engaging way.

● Project management skills.

● Relationship-building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

● Demonstrated ethics and integrity.

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality.

● Advanced proficiency in Excel.

● Strong understanding of GAAP.

● Completion of a COVID-19 vaccine regimen and booster, if eligible.

This job will entail reaching with hands and arms; using hands to finger objects and controls; lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds; close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision; and reading of written, printed, and/or computer screen data.

COMPENSATION

This Full-time Exempt position will receive compensation in the range of $1,250 to $1,827 weekly ($65,000-$95,000 annually). Benefits include paid time off, 75% contribution towards individual's health insurance, 403(b) with TIAA-CREF, medical HRA & FSA, and discounts on company programs. Short-term housing for relocation assistance possible.
