DESCRIPTION

Seeking an immediate replacement for production stage manager of a second-year MFA collaboration production at Columbia University. Broken Arpeggio by Diane Davis is a second-year collaboration production under the mentorship of Leslie Avayzian, Morgan Jenness, Lynn Nottage, Brian Kulick, and Anne Bogart.

SYNOPSIS: Showing promise as a musician early on, Daughter 3 tries to fit in with her middle class family, but after an assault by a music teacher, she goes down an emotional rabbit hole. While attempting to cope, she loses herself to substance abuse and her addiction is exposed during a family portrait. After an involuntary commitment and then recovery, the Mother calls for a redo of the family portrait. Broken Arpeggio is a play about losing oneself within their family, grappling with choices made, and discovering home and family are not always what you think it is.
