With Raves in Tow, Nicole Kidman's Photograph 51 on Track for Film Adaptation | Playbill

News With Raves in Tow, Nicole Kidman's Photograph 51 on Track for Film Adaptation According to the Daily Mail, the critically acclaimed London premiere of Anna Ziegler's Photograph 51, starring Oscar winner Nicole Kidman, has its sights set on the big screen.

Director Michael Grandage told the Daly Mail that he and business partner James Bierman have plans to adapt and expand the play about the woman who cracked DNA into a major motion picture. "It's going to be a proper picture," Grandage said.

There had been speculation that Kidman's draw to the project was that it would make a natural translation to film. She stars as pioneering molecular biologist Dr. Rosalind Franklin, the woman whose research led to the understanding of DNA structure.

Grandage previously responded to questions of a Broadway transfer for the production.
