BBC World Service has announced the complete cast for the world premiere of U.Me: The Complete Musical. The musical film is a stylized character animation, produced and directed by Dan Masterton at Mighty Pie Creative Studio.
Set to be released February 21, Stephen Fry narrates the pandemic-era love story, which sees two young strangers fall in love online across the globe. The series, which stars Anoushka Lucas and Martin Sarreal as Rose and Ryo, respectively, also features Cat Simmons and Kamilla Fernandes as, respectively, Anya and Jade, Rose’s mum and sister.

Olivier-nominated Lucas is a singer songwriter, composer, and actor who has starred in Oklahoma! and Jesus Christ Superstar. Sarreal is an East Asian actor and filmmaker who has starred in Tammy Faye and the upcoming third season of Netflix’s Bridgerton.
U.Me: The Complete Musical has music and lyrics by Theo Jamieson (The Famous Five, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Here Lies Love), as performed by the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. Both Simon Pitts and Jamieson have cowritten the book. The music has been produced by Steve Levine.
