Video Watch: Gabriel Byrne and Lonny Price Share What to Expect From Broadway's Walking With Ghosts

The solo play, adapted from two-time Tony nominee Byrne's memoir, is currently playing the Music Box Theatre.

Two-time Tony nominee Gabriel Byrne brings Walking With Ghosts, a solo show adapted from his memoir of the same name, to Broadway. The 75-performance run began October 18 at the Music Box Theatre with opening night set for October 27.

Ahead of its official opening, director Lonny Price and Byrne shared with Playbill what to expect from the show; watch the discussion in the video above.

The autobiographical work, which premiered at Dublin's Gaiety Theatre before playing Edinburgh International Festival, is described as a "lyricial homage to the people and landscapes that shape our destinies."

The production also features scenic and lighting design by Sinéad McKenna, costume design by Joan O’Clery, and music and sound design by Sinéad Diskin. The piece was originally commissioned and produced by Landmark Productions, with Anna Clarke, Mara Isaacs, and Neal Street producing the Broadway run. Wagner Johnson Productions serves as executive producer.

Walking With Ghosts is Byrne's fourth Broadway outing, following performances in A Moon for the Misbegotten, A Touch of the Poet, and Long Day's Journey Into Night. Byrne received Tony nominations for his work in Moon for the Misbegotten and Long Day's Journey. The stage and screen star has also appeared in such films as Excalibur, Little Women, The Man in the Iron Mask, and Vanity Fair. Byrne's memoir, Walking With Ghosts, was published in 2020.
